Shooting in the winter is always tricky. I have never wanted to own a portrait studio. As a lifestyle/documentary photographer, I want to come to the client’s home or meet them somewhere they feel at home. I feel a portrait studio would create similar photographs for every client and I want to give everyone something personalized and unique.
So, last weekend it was -15, not to mention the windchill and this brave soul was game to shoot BESIDE THE ATLANTIC OCEAN. We didn’t want to wait for warmer temps incase baby came early. This mother-to-be loves the beach and the father-to-be is a graffiti artist. Here is what we came up with. My hands were frozen after only 5 minutes outside, so I could not believe my ears when she exclaimed “I’m going to take off my coat.”! What a brave, strong woman. She is going to be a fun mom.
